AND TECH TIPS

TECH TIPS

How to stay on top of the bidding:
You can set a "max bid" in each package you are interested in, and let the system bid the next increment for you when someone outbids you.
Click on "BID MORE" >  scroll the wheel in the center to the amount you wish to set a max bid >  Click on MAX BID> then click on OK or CANCEL if you've changed your mind.

Navigation Tools
The navigation tools are opened by clicking the three little white horizontal lines usually in the upper left corner of the page.

Browsing by Category
Easier on a computer versus phone.  And category surfing is helpful with so many packages! There is a sliding toggle just to the right of the category list that allows you to see ALL of the categories.

Search
There is a search function in the upper right. Look for the magnifying glass

Save Favorites
You can save your favorites in settings, found in the navigation panel. See three little white horizontal lines.

How to log out
If you want to actually log out, there is a small "power" button icon at the bottom navigation tools near your name. You can always return by finding the original "welcome" message in texts or email to return by clicking the link. If you have ever had an account on Greater Giving for another fundraiser, you may need to log out before trying to log into our event.

Set Max Bid

Make an Anonymous donation
Create a new user profile with Anonymous as your name. Fill out your address, email, phone, and credit card as usual.  Your donation will show up on the "thermometer" as Anonymous, and we will match you up with your real profile after the event.

In bidding page and can't place a bid
If you don't see a way to bid for the package but are seeing the packages, check to see if it's open yet. We can't open wine packages for bidding until Saturday 10/8 at 8 am. Washington State rules and all that. If it's not a package with alcohol, and you don't see a way to bid, scroll to the top and look for the icon of a gavel or a button that says "Start Bidding."

FAQ:

Q:  I already have an account with Greater Giving for another event. When I tried to go to your event, I found myself in the last project I logged in to. What do I do?

A:  When you find yourself logged into another project, open up your navigation tools (look for three white horizontal lines hamburger style.)  Near the bottom of navigation panel, near your name, you will see an icon that looks like an on/off switch.  It is a little hard to see. Log off.  Then go back to our bidding page and click "Start Bidding;" you'll be able to log into our project and start bidding.

Q: I want to make an anonymous donation, and don't want my name to show up on the live-stream page. How do I do that?

A: Create additional user profile with Anonymous as your name. Include your address, email, phone, and credit card as usual, and we will match you up after the event. Your donation will show up as Anonymous when you donate through the bidding site.

Q: I am on the bidding page, but I don't see a way to bid on the package.

A:  If after clicking on the package you don't see buttons allowing you to bid, you are not logged in.  You must be logged in, AND  have a credit card on file to be allowed to bid on donate on the Bidding Page.  Click the "Start Bidding" button, and take a look at the registration page that pops up.  Make sure you have filled in name, email, phone number, address, and waaaay at the bottom there is a place to put in your credit card.  Once you have saved all that, you should be able to start bidding.  If all else fails, leave a message or text our tech help line at 971-533-8077 and we will help you.

Q: I can't find my bidding link in my email.

A: Search on the word "Welcome"in your email and/or texting messages. Your personal bidding link is there and can be used as often as you need.  If you can't find the message, contact us and we can re-send that message with your link. 971-533-8077.

Q: I made a donation through the bidding page, but am not seeing that charge on my bank account yet. Should I be concerned?

A: No worries! When you make a donation through the bidding page, or win an auction item, the charges won't be processed until we close the event. We'll check everything over before submitting the batch for processing to make sure nothing looks out of order before processing. Sure, we'd like a $1 million dollar donation, but if someone accidentally submitted that and we didn't already know about it, we'd be asking questions before processing. We expect you will see the charges on cards by 10/12.

Q: Do I have to register my credit card to bid?

A: Yes. You need a card on file in order to bid. But if you don't want to use the bidding site to give us that information, or did not save your card on file while registering for the live event, we can put it in from the back end.  Just call the tech line at 971-533-8077 and we will help you out. You can give us your card over the phone.
